Meet Oogie Boogie

I got Oogie Boogie, a small white dog, in the Netherlands during COVID. I wanted to adopt, but that was harder than I expected. There are very few street dogs here, and everyone had the same idea during the pandemic. The shelters I checked were basically empty.

I eventually found him on a small farm in Friesland. My Dutch was terrible, and nobody there spoke English.

The woman who gave him to me went through a long list of instructions. They seemed important. I nodded through all of it.

I still don't know if she said he was a Maltese or definitely not a Maltese.

I'm not entirely sure he's a dog, either. For all I know, she was explaining that he's a gremlin and should never be fed after midnight. I don't take chances.

Today he lives in Amsterdam, eats organic food and owns a shark life jacket. He's doing fine.

Where the money goes

Many dogs in Fortaleza, my hometown in Brazil, are abandoned or live on the street.

I give 100% of this shop's net profit to a dog shelter there.

Every month, I add the same amount from my own pocket, up to €500 extra.

Net profit is what's left after production, printing, shipping, payment fees and other running costs.
